This Week’s Book Review will be on the exciting story The Isle of the Dead by Jody Ruth. I like to compile my book reviews about the writing and the ecstatic and my reactions to the cover.
The Main Character: Sergeant John Warrington
Location: Purton Mill, Coast of England
The way that Jody writes truly brings you into his world. Honestly, I have never read a book that dealt with zombies/the Dead, and I am so glad that his novel was the first one that I read. I was enthralled by his imagery and characters. I really couldn’t put the book down. And let’s be honest, zombies are always creepy!
You know when you read a book, and you can’t put it down? Well, I couldn’t stopping reading the world that Jody had created, and it had been a while since I had a novel put a spell upon me, which is a sign to me as a reader that it’s a piece of art.
I won’t spoil the ending, but all I will say is this….W…T….H?!!!!!! Everyone should give Jody’s novel a chance, and I can’t wait till the next one comes out which I believe is July 2019, The Land of the Dead. It truly is a novel where you’re upset that it’s over. I was so enthralled by the novel that I kept looking over my shoulder to make sure an undead wasn’t behind me. :)
Now, on to the book cover. All I can say is wow! The undead starring at you draws you into its eyes. The graphics are phenomenal, and the text fits the scene and ecstatic. Its image makes one reminisce about childhood zombie movies. The art is so beautifully done. He picked the PERFECT model for his cover. Great job Jody!
Below I have listed where you can get his amazing novel and his website! Thank you so much for reading the review. Please leave comments.
